Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a non-religious ceremony to welcome a child or children into a family. There are no restrictions on what or who parents or guardians choose to include.

As your naming ceremony celebrant, I will help you to

choose special supporters, and to organise an event that includes all the elements you want to make the celebration special.

I will work with the family to create a beautiful and unique day, full of love and support to welcome the child into a loving family surrounded by those who mean the most to them.

Naming ceremonies can be performed at any time during childhood and it is not unusual for these to be held when the child is old enough to be involved.

Naming ceremonies can be adapted to welcome new children into a family after adoption, or the reconfiguration of a family after separation or divorce. This enables families to recognise the commitment that a new partnership and family network has to the step-children and again, an opportunity to welcome and offer support to them.

These events can be held in many different venues, the importance is to focus on the needs of the child, as the event is all about them. Please get in touch to discuss your ceremony.

The Basic cost for a naming ceremony, regardless of number of children, is £200.

I would be delighted to work with you and your family to create a ceremony that suits your budget so please do not hesitate to get in touch.

The Circle Celebrancy is based in Modbury in the South Hams of Devon. I am happy to travel to other areas however, please note that mileage costs will apply beyond a 25 mile radius.
